Who we are

Slop & Think ("we", "us") is operated by Ben Harvell, a sole trader based at Hollywater Road, Bordon, Hampshire, GU35 0AD, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

What we collect and why

• Email address and name — to deliver your purchase, send a receipt, and (only if you opt in at checkout) send marketing about Slop & Think. Legal basis: contract performance; consent for marketing.
• Content you submit (your draft and brief) — sent to AI model providers to generate the polished output, and included in your Shopify order record so you have a delivery copy. We do not use your content to train models. Legal basis: contract performance.
• Payment and billing details — collected by Shopify Checkout / Shopify Payments to process your £3 purchase. Card details are handled by Shopify and never reach our servers.
• Usage and device data (IP address, browser, pages viewed, errors) — to operate the service, prevent fraud, and improve the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Support messages — to respond to you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Who we share data with

• Shopify — runs our checkout, payments (Shopify Payments), order records, receipts, and (with your consent) marketing emails. Shopify acts as a processor for the order and as a controller for payment data.
• AI model providers (our LLM gateway) — process the content you submit to generate outputs.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run the website and database.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK/EEA. Where data is transferred internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or adequacy decisions.

Retention

We keep order and email records for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations (typically up to 7 years for accounting records). Drafts and outputs are kept only as long as needed to deliver and support your polish, then deleted or anonymised. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. We aim to respond within one month. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) at any time.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect personal data.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to run the site and the checkout. We do not currently set marketing or analytics cookies that require consent.
